Join Master Gardeners Kelly and Julia for this Women Build Workshop: Gardening 101.

Learn the basics to start/maintain your own garden, like how to plant seeds and transplant plants; discern the different types of potting soil; advantages to planting in the ground vs. in containers; where to get tools and materials; and where to go for more information.

Hands-on activities for this workshop include: planting seeds and transplanting potted plants. Please bring gardening gloves if you have some, thought we will have some extras available.

Space is limited for this no-cost workshop, and preregistration is required. Attendees will be asked to sign a waiver upon registration.

The health and safety of Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity homeowners, volunteers, staff and community is a top priority. We continue to follow the recommendations of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation.

Hand washing stations are available on our construction sites, and hand sanitizer is accessible both in the office and at the Habitat Stores. We are regularly disinfecting community-use spaces and encourage frequent hand washing. Employees and volunteers alike are encouraged to stay home if they are sick.
