Collegiate Challenge, 2022

After a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic, Collegiate Challenge is back!

A group of 20 students from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA and Catholic University of America in Washington DC visited Tacoma to volunteer as part of Collegiate Challenge last week.

The students helped with a variety of new construction tasks at Fern Hill and with a roof replacement on an Aging in Place project. Together, they contributed 460 hours of labor in just a week.

Habitat would like to thank Trinity Lutheran Church (Parkland) and First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup for hosting the students; PLU Athletics for providing their pool facilities for showers; and First Presbyterian, One Hope Church, and Our Savior Lutheran Church for providing snacks and lunches.
