With few exceptions, 16 is the minimum age for volunteering with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity. To get involved, attend a New Volunteer Orientation as the first step. Following an orientation and successful background check, teens will be able to sign up for opportunities on the construction site or in the Habitat Stores.
High school students wishing to volunteer as a group can usually be accommodated. Please contact us to discuss options.
Youth under 14 are encouraged to consider making and bringing snacks or lunches for volunteers. With over 1,000 individuals contributing over 20,000 volunteer hours each year, we go through A LOT of snacks. Donations can be dropped off at the Tacoma Habitat office between 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
