The ReStore is a home improvement outlet store that sells new and gently used items that are donated to the store. Some items come from companies such as Lowe’s or Tacoma Screw. Other items come from individuals. We have furniture, lighting, appliances, bathtubs, fixtures, paint, tile, doors, windows, pull handles, saw blades…all sorts of stuff, and all the profits from the sale of these items goes to fund the building of Habitat homes in the Tacoma/Pierce County area.
Volunteers are the key to keeping the ReStore running and growing! The reason all the profits can be dedicated to the homes is because we are staffed almost exclusively by volunteers. If we do not have people to work the store, orders cannot be placed and items will not be picked up.
None! We will work with you to find a position you enjoy, and then train you thoroughly. However, if you have special skills, we would love for you to join us. Here are a few of the needs we currently have:
• Pick-up Assistants: We need able-bodied people to help the drivers pick up the items.
• Sellers: Stocking and organizing the ReStore, and assisting customers.
• Administration: There are many diverse tasks involved here, which include taking phone calls, arranging for pick-ups, creating signs, managing publicity, and connecting with donor businesses.
You must be 16 or older.
We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
